25 Unicorn Street, Monday Morning

It had officially been two years since Clint and Kitty had gotten married, and it was hard for Clint to believe Kitty hadn't come to her senses yet. They'd originally had plans to go somewhere nice on the mainland before all the snow hit, but considering the storm, staying in seemed like a much safer option. Plus, it had given them an excuse to stay in bed where the fireplace had ended up, which Clint didn't mind at all.

Clint didn't stir much as he woke up, and just wrapped his arm around Kitty under the covers. If his hand ended up on her stomach, well, that was probably going to happen a lot for the next few months, so she'd better get used to it. "Good morning," he said quietly, squinting a little at the window. "Either I didn't get enough sleep, or the snow is suggesting we go ice skating."

[For the sexy wife oh god how has it been two years?!]

“The snow is stupid, and doesn’t get to tell me what to do,” Kitty grumbled without opening her eyes yet, sliding her hand over his.

“Please, tell me how you really feel,” Clint said with a laugh. “At least the power seems to be back on.”

“Good. I’ve missed light,” she said, snuggling closer. “And obsessively googling things.”

Sserioisly, every time a question or a potential symptom popped up: google.

"I think maybe we should slow down on the obsessive googling." And by 'we,' he definitely meant 'you.' "I'm sure everything is going fine so far." Because mixing normal human DNA with mutant DNA never went awry!

“I know everything’s fine,” Kitty said, and finally opened her eyes. “But most of my existing knowledge of what's happening comes from TV and I can’t trust TV. TV has already omitted stuff.”

"Omitted stuff like what?" Clint leaned up a little, still rubbing Kitty's belly.

[throughaphase]

"Being tired all the time. Or like how morning sickness might be more like late afternoon sickness and just means the thought of ingesting literally anything is terrible."

She'd check for squirrels, but that meant getting up.

Clint would get up and check, but that would mean not hugging Kitty. “I have to admit, I feel bad about how much more this is going to affect you than me. I’m just going to keep saying, anything I can do to make things easier for you, I will.”

“It’s fine. Women have been doing this literally for all of human existence,” Kitty said. “And you’re adorable about this whole thing and I love it.”

"I am not adorable," Clint said, burying his face against one of the pillows. "I'm just excited. And terrified. And wondering what people will think when we start to tell them."

“What do you think people would think?” Kitty wondered.

"I think our friends will be happy for us, and also concerned about us bringing a child into our respective crazy worlds," Clint said. "I'm also expecting some people to question you for having a child with me, but maybe they'll be nice instead."

“You mean Steve and Tony?” she guessed.

[so_hawkward]

"I can think of a few X-Men who tolerate me well enough when I'm around, but probably aren't fond of me, or Avengers in general at the moment," Clint pointed out.

Kitty considered that. “I think any X-Man who’s not a fan of yours isn’t a fan of me either at the moment, so that’s not that important,” she pointed out, and paused.

“Logan will be interesting.”

"Logan's definitely going to kill me, or at least threaten to bury my body if I don't take good care of you. But at least I know he'll be doing that out of love," Clint said.

"Pretty much," Kitty confirmed. "And I think he sometimes still sees me as a kid, so I have a feeling I'll end up having a Talk with him pretty early on. I think he'd be the only one to be an issue, though."

[so_hawkward]

"I hope so. I don't want anyone stressing you out more than necessary," Clint said, pulling Kitty in for a hug. "I... have no idea what Barney's going to say. I don't even know if I want to tell him."

“Oh, you absolutely have to tell him,” Kitty said firmly. “And if he gets weird, I’m sure that’ll change once we make him babysit.”

She paused.

“For like five minutes.”

Yeah okay maybe she didn’t think that would go well?

"Maybe I'll tell him when you can't hide it anymore. Like from the birthing room," Clint said. "That wouldn't be weird, right?"

“A little weird,” she said with a smile. “Want me to tell him? He could always get a sonogram text and try to figure out what that fuzzy blob is.”
