Around Fandom, Thursday afternoon

Even though it was September, it was still warm enough outside that walking Lucky was kind of uncomfortable if he wanted to smell all the things. Now that Clint had Rook too, who wanted to smell all the things twice, he'd ended up peeling his shirt off on one of the staircases and was walking around with it tucked into his jeans as he finally, hopefully, headed back to his house. The dogs didn't seem to mind him being sweaty and gross, and he hoped no one he came across would mind either.

You know what was great about living in a small town? You could just happen to run into scenes like this just by walking outside.

"So this is the best thing I've seen today," Kitty greeted them.

"Hello to you too," Clint said, loosening Rook's leash a little as she bounced over to Kitty. "I'm going to assume you mean seeing both dogs and knowing who they are."

Yes, he was joking, mostly.

"That too," she said, bending to give Rook all the pets because omg so cute. "Hello, little girl. I'm glad I'm not coming to weird conclusions based on your collar anymore..."

"I think she's just happy she got fed and loved this weekend," he said, "and that she didn't get stolen away by you. Not that you would have gone far."

"And it wouldn't exactly be hard to find me two blocks away when you have a key to my apartment," Kitty said. "I can settle for visitation."

"I think you count as way more than a visitor when you helped me get things set up for her," Clint said. "You should feel free to take on walking duties whenever you want."

Especially Rook. Ah, little dogs.

"Ooh, I can do that." She totally could keep up with two. "Does that mean you're already over this part of the job?"

"I'm not totally over it. I just need to get a lot more used to the stairs," Clint said. "It helps that they're both adorable. Poor Lucky needs to get used to having a friend with a lot of energy."

"He will. She'll get bored and he's a trooper," Kitty said, giving Lucky some petting, too. "Just remember the stairs keep your butt looking great."

"Oh, I see how it is. I've got to keep myself hot for you, huh?" Clint asked.

"It's really a public service, oh shirtless one," Kitty smiled.

"It's too hot out," Clint whined said. "I'm ready for winter. Then it'll feel like New York."

"I dunno, I'm pretty good with all this." Because she got to ogle. Outdoors.

It wasn't like Clint minded being ogled. It was just weird to talk about when it was actually happening, instead of teasing someone about doing it when they weren't. That was so much less awkward. "So I've earned my boyfriend points for the day?" he asked.

"You really have. I'm really glad I didn't feel like staying in my apartment," Kitty said. "Though I'd say that even if you had a shirt on. And if you didn't bring the puppies out."

Clint snickered. "I can put my shirt back on if this is too much," he offered.

"Nope," she said, stepping forward to wrap an arm around him. "Too bad, you can't, you've got a Kitty in the way. Darn."

[so_hawkward]

"I can put the shirt on over you." Okay, that was a lie since it was kind of a tight shirt, but still. "You sure you want to be this close to me right now?"

"You don't smell, you're not covered in anything gross, and I am fighting the good fight here in keeping that shirt off," Kitty told him.

"I'm feeling very objectified here," Clint teased, giving Lucky's leash a shake. "Tell her she's being mean."

Lucky, for his part, just glanced up at Kitty before going back to sniffing the ground while Rook pawed at her legs. So unhelpful, these dogs were.

"See, they're on my side," Kitty grinned. "I mean, I could stop objectifying you..."

Out loud, anyway.

"Did I say I wanted you to stop? I didn't mean that part," Clint said with a laugh. "I'm just used to it, you know, inside one of our bedrooms."

"Well, I wouldn't do it out in public public," she assured him. "But here's it's just you, me, and the dogs. And I'm pretty sure Lucky's used to us by now."

[so_hawkward]

"Poor Lucky, he's seen so much," Clint teased. "Rook will learn when not to come pawing at the door soon enough."

"We'll be kind," Kitty said. "Does this mean we should keep it PG in the house in general till she settles in?"

"Um, no," Clint said quickly, because hello, that wasn't going to happen in their relationship. "She'll learn, it'll be fine."

"Especially when we don't have to worry about disturbing any other humans there." Not that Kitty had ever worried about Natasha walking in on anything, or anything.

"We do have the freedom to be R-rated wherever we want," Clint agreed. "I definitely thought about that when Natasha went home."

In his defense, there wasn't a ton of time he didn't spend thinking about sexytimes with Kitty.

"No more having to stop and move things upstairs before things get really good..." Kitty said. Sure, they'd had her place to get it on wherever, but now they had two.

"And there are places we haven't even tried. I have a whole kitchen of flat surfaces," Clint said with a grin.

Yeah, she was totally picturing it now. "So how much longer do you think you're gonna be out here...?"

"I was actually planning on heading back to the house if these guys will let me," Clint said, tugging the leashes. "I bet I could make them stop exploring and go home."

"I could help," Kitty offered. And then they'd be at his place!
