25 Unicorn Street, Sunday Morning

Typically, Clint got up at a decent hour on Sundays to try to get things done, but that wasn't going to happen today. Today, he was celebrating the end of the ghost weirdness waking up and not moving. He had Kitty in his bed, Lucky and Rook resting somewhere nearby, and there were no less than four bandages on his body. All was right with the world, and there was no reason to change that quickly.

"It looks like sugar," Clint said. "But if it's snow, you should still stay here. Baby it's cold outside blah blah however the rest of the song goes."

"Oh no, you're suck with me. Whatever shall you do?" Kitty smiled.

Clint gave Kitty a very dirty grin as he rolled closer and kissed her on the cheek. "I can think of a lot of answers to that question, most of which reward me for being a hero yesterday."

"And you deserve all the praise and adulation for that," she agreed. "Along with other stuff you've probably already come up with."

[so_hawkward]

"Most of it doesn't even involve us moving," Clint said, laughing. "I'm really glad the worst thing that came out of this week for us is some scratches. I probably would have done something stupid if you'd gotten hurt."

"You're sweet. But don't do anything stupid," she said, giving him a little kiss. "I'm not really sure I could get hurt by ghosts. Half the time I'm not that different from them."

[so_hawkward]

"Hey, that's not true. You're not... it's not the same at all," Clint said, sitting up a little. "You're a person who just happens to not be solid sometimes. It's totally different than ghosts."

"You didn't see me when I got stuck being intangible. It was really pretty similar, aside from the dead part," Kitty said. "I just have control over it. And that's fine."

"Yeah well, that's not going to happen again." Oh Clint. "I'm sorry it happened at all."

"I got better. And it means I got to hang in England for a couple years," she told him with a shrug. "For the record, I'm glad you didn't get hurt this week, either."

Beyond the usual bandages, anyway.

"Hey, I totally have scratches, look," Clint said, straightening his arm out for her. "That second island is weird and I'm not going to be able to go into a toy store for a little while."

"Was that really on your to-do list to begin with?" Kitty wondered.

[so_hawkward]

"Not really, but still. I'm just glad I ended up going since it was me and a bunch of students. And a girl who graduated, I think, but she was still pretty young," he said. "It's things like that that remind me how I couldn't do what you do and take care of so many kids."

"It's probably easier once you've really done it," Kitty said thoughtfully. "I mean, I sort of was the kid tagging along on everything so now it's just reapplying that, I guess. You'd probably be better at it than you think."

[so_hawkward]

"I don't know if that would really apply to me. I wasn't exactly saving the world as a teenager," Clint pointed out, snickering to himself. "That's why I'm so badass now, I saved it all for adulthood."

"Oh, that explains everything," Kitty teased. "Wait, does that mean I'm going to use up all my badass in a few years?"

[so_hawkward]

Clint pretended to think about it for a few moments and shook his head. "Nah, I probably just got a late start. I genuinely cannot imagine you not being badass. I'm trying to picture you being old and... nope, still cool."

"Bet I could do some real damage with a walker in a fight," Kitty mused.

[so_hawkward]

"Oh, I think your sciency types will have you in something way cooler than a walker by the time you get old enough to need one," Clint said. "But no one's going to want to mess with you either way."

"I could run someone over with my motorized wheelchair? I should not be having fun coming up with ideas about this," Kitty said, probably proving that 'no one would want to mess with her' point.

"I don't think there's anything wrong with coming up with ideas about this. You're planning for the future. Isn't that something responsible people do?" Clint asked.

"You know, if I were a more insecure person I'd probably take this as the opportunity to be all 'Where do you see this going?' or 'Where do you see yourself in five years?'" Kitty teased. "You're so lucky."

[so_hawkward]

"I know I'm lucky. And for the record, I'm going to be racing you in that wheelchair," Clint said. "Mine's going to be perfectly aerodynamic."

She definitely smiled at hearing that, aww. "Why, will you have lost all your hair by then?"

It was easier to joke when she'd seen him old.

"Absolutely not," Clint said, running his hands over his hair. "My hair is always going to be perfect. I mean, if I still have it... what was that, 20 years from now? I'll be all set."

"You are still hot in twenty years," she agreed.
