so_hawkwardSo, it seems that I never made an info post for Clint when I brought him into the game! I'll be making a post for the rest of my characters later; Clint is getting his own post because, well, the nice folks on Twitter said I didn't have to limit the number of gifs I used, and this is the result.
Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, comes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically, a little movie hardly anyone saw called The Avengers.
Clint's backstory (via comics) is a long series of pretty much everyone he's ever trusted hurting him and deserting him and treating him like crap. His dad was an abusive alcoholic whose drinking led to Clint and his brother being orphaned at a young age.
But then, at some point that often changes depending on who's writing the story, Clint ended up in the circus, and discovered the awesomeness of archery! He spent some time on the wrong side of the law (boo, circus people tricking him into being bad and then betraying him some more, which he totally needed) before getting picked up by SHIELD and fighting the good fight in an effort to balance out all the bad he'd done in the past.
With Natasha fighting awesomely by his side, he was doing pretty well at, as she'd say, erasing the red from his ledger, but all that changed when Loki came along and tried to take over the world. Clint came to Fandom a few months after the events of the movie, partly on assignment to check the island out for SHIELD, and partly because rebuilding the Helicarrier would probably go smoother without the guy who caused all of the destruction on board - at least, as far as Clint was concerned.
He has a way of holding onto guilt for a while, and all the recent business with falling under Umbridge's mind control didn't help.
(But his angsting is pretty, so it's kind of okay.)
So, what else do you need to know about Clint? Here are some bullet points:
Clint is the world's greatest marksman. Or, his world's greatest, at least.
It might not seem like much, but it lets him be on a team with a super soldier, a god, and the Hulk, so there. Sometimes, Clint can be quick to get angry and cranky, due to getting the short end of the stick, like, all the time.
But, even when he's angry, he's pretty good at being logical and rational and embracing his inner Hufflepuff.
When he's not brooding like a brooding thing, Clint can be awfully snarky...
...and silly...
...and he has kind of a contagious laugh.
He's a pretty shameless flirt, and has never met a double entendre he didn't like.
Physically speaking... well, this is where I diverge from the comics the most, because Jeremy Renner is only 5'9" and I kind of like the idea of Clint being that short. But, what he lacks in height he makes up for in acrobatic ability!
(God bless the Renner stretch.)
If you find yourself drawn to his arms or his butt, well, no one can really blame you.
Overall, Clint is warming up to the idea of being in Fandom for a while, and will gladly talk to anyone. Don't worry, he'll be friendly!
