25 Unicorn Street, Saturday Morning

Neither Clint nor Kitty had made any big plans for today besides "wake up," "eat food," and "walk the dogs somewhere," so Clint was perfectly happy to not move for a while after he woke up. It was nice to have quiet time curled up with Kitty--at least until there was a banging noise on the door, which sent Rook flying off to investigate. Lucky just picked his head up and sniffed, and Clint groaned, wrapping himself tighter around Kitty. Maybe if she didn't hear anything, he could pretend there was no reason to get out of the bed.

Kitty sighed, mostly just because she'd somehow lost that one. She was all about the sugar cereal for herself. "Sure, thanks. I mean, as long as you're cooking."

"I don't think mixing cereal and milk counts as cooking. Once the microwave comes into it, then we can talk," Clint teased.

"What about toast?" Lexi asked, kneeling down so she could engage in some good old-fashioned dog petting. "You make good toast!"

Lucky and Rook were both all about that life, and wasted no time in demanding petting.

"Are you sure I don't burn it to a crisp? And then cover it with butter to try to fix it?"

"No, you cover it with jelly and that's the way it's best. Mom says it's an acquired taste," Lexi said wisely, pronouncing the hard word carefully.

"Aww, Mom is so nice to me," Clint said, giving Kitty a smirk. "You're both nice for putting up with me."

"It's easy when you're all great and cute and everything," Kitty told him.

Lexi rolled her eyes, wondering if they were going to get all mushy on her.

They were absolutely going to get mushy, because Clint had an idea that Lexi might not appreciate seeing them kiss. Obviously, that meant he had to give Kitty a kiss and a smile. "You're great and cute too."

"You guuuuuys," Lexi said plaintively. "I'm right here."

[so_hawkward]

"I knoooow." Poor, poor Kitty for having to deal with both of them. "We're reminding you how lucky you are to have parents who like each other."

Lexi gave the most put-upon sigh. "Do you have to remind me if I already know?"
