Locker 327, Monday Morning

Early in the morning, the hallway outside Locker 327 was, perhaps surprisingly, quiet. Then a low rumbling began, and the sound grew louder until finally the door popped open and Clint and Kitty fell out, with Clint landing on the ground first to soften Kitty's fall.

"Okay, that was kind of fun until the landing," he said.

Kitty took a second to look around and make sure they weren't anyplace weird before anything else. then she could do things like sit up and stuff. "Which was the fun part, exactly?"

"The part where I showed off my snake wrangling skills," Clint said with a smirk. "I bet you didn't know I could handle things that were so big, huh?"

They were back in civilization, he was allowed to tease now, right?

"Oh, wow, I'm dating a twelve-year-old," Kitty said good-naturedly.

This was not news, by the way.

"You already knew that," Clint said, because yes. Looking Kitty over, he added, "Are you okay?"

"Considering all the time we just spent living a Syfy movie, I'm remarkably okay," she assured him. "You?"

[so_hawkward]

"Eh, no more banged up than usual." Not that that was a high standard to meet or anything. "I wonder how long we were gone here."

"It seemed like a long time, but that probably happens with giant anacondas," Kitty said. "...Do you think we missed classes?"

[so_hawkward]

"I hope not? Or, at least, we've got a good excuse?" Clint said, shaking his head. "Giant anacondas. I'm not gonna be able to laugh at Syfy for a while now."

[throughaphase]

"Yeah, you will. Sharknado is still a thing that happened," she pointed out. "Ugh, if I missed my second class ever, I'm grounded."

"You're not grounded. You'll have plenty of time to impart wisdom to the teenagers," Clint said. "I think people will care more that you were missing. I bet your students missed you."

"They're teenagers. They were probably happy to get an easy week," she said, sitting back against the lockers.

Not that locker, though.

Clint sat down next to Kitty--against another safe locker, thank you--and took her hand. "Okay, good point. You'd know, being nearly a teenager and all. And it could have been worse. At least we didn't get separated."

"Hey, I haven't been a teenager for a whole seven months," she told him. "And yeah, it could have been worse. It's much harder to make inappropriate giant snake jokes when we're just relieved to see each other."

[so_hawkward]

"My jokes are totally appropriate," Clint protested. "There's nothing wrong with me saying I liked how you handled the giant snake. That's just polite boyfriend talk."

[throughaphase]

"I don't know that I'd call that 'polite,' honey," she smiled.

[so_hawkward]

"You clearly weren't raised by wolves like me," Clint said, leaning over to kiss her cheek. "I wish I'd had a camera. People might not believe us."

[throughaphase]

"You would have been taking pictures of the giant snake?" she asked, leaning against him a little.

[so_hawkward]

"Well, not when it was trying to eat one of us," Clint explained. "But when it was wiggling around."

Excuse him while he snickered. Giant snakes were really funny when they didn't kill you.

"I'm beginning to think you're not taking the situation seriously," Kitty teased, bumping hkm with her shoulder.

[so_hawkward]

"I take things seriously when they should be taken seriously. Giant anacondas don't count," Clint said. "And okay, honestly, I don't take very much seriously at all."

[throughaphase]

"Does that mean not many things should be taken seriously?" Ooh, getting philosophical.

[so_hawkward]

"It means I'm not a serious guy, I guess?" Clint said. "It's part of my charm."

[throughaphase]

"Yeah, it is," she said, kissing his shoulder and smiling up at him.

Clint grinned and stood up, offering Kitty a hand. "Come on, let's get cleaned up and see what we missed in town." Hopefully, they hadn't missed anything good.
