25 Unicorn Street, Saturday Morning

For once, it was probably a good thing that Clint took a while to wake up, because it took longer for full confusion to hit him. He was in a strange bed, with a woman he didn't recognize--a hot woman though, and he wondered if it was terrible that he couldn't remember her name. It was probably pretty terrible, right? He picked his head up from the pillow and looked around for anything familiar, and when he couldn't find anything, he laid back down and slipped his arm back around his bed partner. Pretending to still be asleep seemed like the best course of action for the moment.

"Really?" That seemed surprising, for whatever reason. "I guess I must be awesome."

Clint had assumed that they were alone since he hadn't heard anything after waking up, but with the door opening and the sound of his voice, there was suddenly barking from the kitchen. "What the hell was that?"

"I think you have a dog," Kitty said, looking a little excited, and also heading down the hall like, immediately. "Doesn't sound like a little yappy dog either!"

Though those were still cute.

Clint headed down the hall as well until they got to the kitchen, and found not one, but two dogs waiting patiently.

Well, Lucky was waiting patiently. Rook waited until she saw people and then ran over to Clint, barking and wagging her tail.

"Okay, now I really hope this place is mine," he said.

"Eeee," Kitty said. "I mean, there has to be something that gives a clue. And ID or phone pictures or something."

Clint picked the littler dog up and went over to the kitchen counter. "Ha, wallet! Do you see a purse anywhere?" Because she was a laaady.

"Ummm." She looked around, then wandered towards the living room, where she saw her purse near the door. She returned a moment later, saying, "Found it."

He was so cute with that dog. Seriously.

At least half the cuteness came from the puppy, okay? "My wallet says I'm Clint. I think we're in New York," he said, gazing at his ID.

Kitty found her wallet, looked at the ID, and said, "I am apparently Katherine- I wonder if I shorten that- and I've got Maryland on mine."

"Either you came a long way for a booty call, or the IDs aren't that helpful," Clint said. "We have names though, that's a start."

"I am way better than a booty call," Kitty said. "I know that for sure. Ooh, I have a phone."

[so_hawkward]

"Yeah, I bet you are. Is there anything from me on there?" Clint asked, looking over her shoulder for a moment before looking around more. "I bet I've got a phone too. Hopefully with nothing incriminating on it."

"Hopefully. Ooh, there are texts," she said, scrolling through. "What's Dite's?"

Clint thought about it for a moment before shaking his head. "Doesn't ring a bell. Do the texts say anything about it?"

"Not really. It looks like we're seriously dating, though," she said. "Go, me."

"Go both of us. I think we've both done pretty well," Clint said. In his arms, Rook started squirming, so Clint looked back to the kitchen. "I'd better find the food for these guys before they start chewing on us." Even though that would be kind of adorable.

"Aww, they wouldn't do anything but nibble." Because he had dogs that were total cutie pies. But she started back towards the kitchen, still half-looking at her phone because that's where the pictures were, saying, "Do they have collars?"

"...I can't believe I didn't think of that," Clint said, looking at their collars to check. "The little one says Rook, and the bigger one says Lucky, but the little one doesn't have a tag with my name on it like the big one." Smiling at Rook, he said, "Do you belong to me too, girl?"

Rook, for her part, licked at Clint's face, but that was more of a friendly gesture at this point. Lucky had so much work to do to train her, clearly.

"Maybe you're watching her for somebody. Or she's new," Kitty said. And decided to sit on the floor because the floor = dog level.

Well congrats Kitty, that meant Rook was going to come over and paw at your legs.

"Maybe she's yours," Clint said. "Do you think you're a dog person? I can't imagine we'd be dating if you're not, but still."

[throughaphase]

"Maybe. I can definitely say I like them," she said, as evidenced by her immediately petting Rook. "Maybe we have a long distance thing going on and she comes with me when I visit?"

[so_hawkward]

"Ooh, maybe," Clint said, searching through cabinets until he found dog food. "That might explain why one of the bowls looks way less used than the other. If we have a long distance thing, where do you think you might be from?"

"If my ID's current, it's someplace called Fandom," Kitty said. "I don't know why we'd be separated, though. Maybe we met online? Or one of us moved?"

[so_hawkward]

"I don't think I'm an online dating person. I like the thought of meeting someone face-to-face," Clint said. "But there could have been a move involved. If we're sharing animals, we've probably been at this for a while, yeah?"

"Probably," Kitty said, looking at her hand. "No ring, so probably not a really long time. I wonder what happened that one of us moved."

"Maybe a job change?" Clint said. "It had to have sucked no matter what."
